Witton make their second visit to The APEC Taxis Stadium in less than a fortnight on Saturday afternoon, when they travel to Runcorn Linnets in the Isuzu FA Challenge Trophy First Qualifying Round.
They will be hoping for a better outcome than on their previous visit when Linnets took the three points in the league game.
Witton go into the game following a disappointing result at Lancaster City last weekend in the Emirates FA Challenge Cup Preliminary Round, a game in which they could have got a second chance but it wasn’t to be.
Runcorn have been in action in midweek following a 2-2 draw at Charnock Richard, which led to a replay on Tuesday night.
The first game saw Adam Moseley grab his first senior goal for the Linnets only for Charnock Richard to equalise in the last few minutes.
The replay was quite a dramatic affair with both teams scoring from the penalty spot in the last minute, taking it to extra time.
Runcorn then went in front before Charnock Richard’s second equaliser, only for Ryan Brooke to clinch the game for Linnets with his second goal of the night right at the end.
Witton have added to their squad in midweek following the signing of midfielder Jack Sherratt from Nantwich Town and he will add experience to the team as well as competition for places.
There was still no news on the availability of goalkeeper Ollie Martin and Taylor Kennerley ahead of the game but, Witton will be looking to perform and hopefully get the desired result.
The winners of the tie will travel to either City of Liverpool FC or 1874 Northwich in the Second Qualifying Round in two weeks time.
Kick off at the APEC Taxis Stadium is 3pm.
