Three second half goals give Students excellent victory.

Full Time Score from Wincham Park:

NPL Football Academy - Joma Division:

Witton Albion Academy 3 Radcliffe FC (Blue) 0.

Witton's Academy team produces their best performance of the NPL Football Academy campaign as they brough Joma Division leaders Radcliffe FC down to earth with a bump at Wincham Park.

The runaway leaders had won eight games out of eight and notched a massive 38 goals in the process including a 2-0 success at Neuven Stadium in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. The fact that Witton had restricted them to only two goals was a huge achievement in itself as they had been scoring goals for fun prior to that game.

The return fixture turned out to be totally different as the first half ended goalless following some determined defending, aided by an assured performance between the posts from Albion keep Danny Hamlett kept Radcliffe at bay although Witton did have chances of their own.

All the goals came after the break as Witton took control when Oliver McDonough swept home a right wing cross to open the scoring. Defender Thomas McLuckie fired home a free-kick left-footed from range to give them a two-goal cushion midway through the second half before Jordan Coles added the third when a left-wing cross was only half cleared and he met it on the volley from the edge of the area.

So Radcliffe's unbeaten run had ended and Witton were then due to face second-placed Matlock Town away, the Gladiators also boasting a 100% record so far, the only one left in the league.
