Warrington Town prove too good for Albion's Students.

Witton's Academy team fell to defeat against Warrington Town on Wednesday afternoon in their latest NPL Football Academy Joma Division fixture at JMO Sports Park in Skelmersdale.

With both teams above them being inactive, Witton had the opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table but weren't able to take advantage of it as Warrington asserted themselves by roaring into a three goal lead.

The Yellows went in front inside the first fifteen minutes through Patrick Wright before Ross Avies scored the first of his two goals to double their lead. Luke Sutton then netted Warrington's third to give the home side a comfortable 3-0 interval lead giving Witton an uphill task.

The aforementioned Sutton, made Witton's task even harder when he added his second early in the second half to increase the lead before Owen Wynne replied for Albion with his fifteenth goal of the season but it proved to be little more than a consolation.

The scoring was completed just before the final whistle as Ross Avies added Warrington's fifth but the damage was already done in the first half.
