Match Preview

Four weeks into the new NPL Football Academy season and Witton's Students finally get to play their first home game of the new campaign, when they welcome Leek Town in a Joma Division fixture. Witton have made an excellent start to the new NPLFA season, taking four points from their two games both away from Wincham Park. An excellent point on the opening day at Mickleover Sports, a team who had beaten them heavily in the corresponding fixture last season and after having the first home fixture against newcomers Ossett United postponed due to their other commitments, Witton then took all three points from Sutton Coldfield Town last week. Leek Town have also started the season well so this will be a test for our team but one they are more than capable of meeting. A number of new faces have stepped up into the Academy system this season and have acquitted themselves well so far in the games played. Leek Town are currently in fifth place in the table just below Witton so an entertaining game is in prospect. Kick off at Wincham Park is 1pm.
