Witton's Academy team complete their ESPFA National Cup Northern Group programme on Thursday when the welcome Ossett United.

The team have already secured their place in the Northern Quarter Finals and have also guaranteed second place in their group behind Runcorn Linnets but will be looking to end their group matches in a positive manner.

The Quarter Final draw has given Witton a home tie against Skelmersdale United to be played at Sandbach Community Football Centre in a week's time but taking care of the final group game will be the focus of all the players and Coach Martyn Irvine.

The team endured a difficult start to the season but improved performances leading to more consistent results, have given the team a great chance of progress and they've certainly grasped the initiative and implemented the improvement needed.

Ossett United got the better of Witton during the regular league season, taking four points from the two games with a 1-0 win at Ingfield, and a draw at the U Lock It Stadium earlier in the season but now it's a one-off game to be decided on the day with the possibility of a penalty shootout at the end of it.

A tremendous cup campaign has taken the team to the verge of a cup final but, they have two difficult hurdles to negotiate before they can even begin to think about that.

The game is being played at Sandbach Community Football Centre with a 12pm kick off.

Turn right onto Kinderton Street/A54 and follow for 0.1 miles. Turn left onto Leadsmithy Street/A533. Continue to follow A533 for 3.7 miles. Turn right onto Station Road/B5079. Continue to follow Station Road for 0.5 miles and continue onto Elworth Road follow for 0.3 miles. Turn right to stay on Elworth Road and continue for 299 ft. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Hind Heath Road/B5079 and follow for 0.2 miles. Turn left onto Restricted-usage road and proceed for 276 ft. Sandbach Community Football Centre is opposite the Cricket Club. (Total Distance - 11.6 miles).
