Witton's Academy Team's NPL Football Academy Cup run came to an end at the home of "SPORTS TRAIDER" Division leaders Matlock Town, in the long-awaited Quarter Final on Monday afternoon.

Matlock have won every game they've played this season and have only conceded four league goals in thirteen games so, the task facing Witton was certainly a very tough one.

The home side went in front early on through Finn Oakley and they protected that lead through to half time. Witton were unable to break through in the second half and Matlock Town saw the game out and in the process, booked their place in the last four.

Witton have performed very well this season in both league and cup but, it just wasn't meant to be on the day but they can certainly feel proud of their achievements so far.
