Witton Albion were knocked out of the Integro Sport League Cup at the First Round stage after a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle Town.
The match was marred by a serious-looking injury sustained by young defender Stefan Sorensen, and we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.
James Melhado was given his marching orders for his involvement in the incident which led to Sorensen being taken to hospital, leaving the hosts with 10 men for the final 38 minutes of the cup tie.
They did, however, take the lead 12 minutes later with a goal from Harvey Howell beating Ryan Neild in the Witton goal.
Albion's focus turns back to the Northern Premier League and a big game against FC United of Manchester on Saturday at Wincham Park.
