Witton look to build on their excellent result at leaders Widnes last weekend, when they welcome Stalybridge Celtic in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture on Saturday afternoon.
The fixture will see the return of former manager Jon Macken and his assistant Steve Atkinson, for the first time to the U Lock It Stadium since their departure before the start of the season.
Celtic are currently in seventh place in the table, and still have a chance of making the play offs if they can put a run together in the final few weeks.
Witton will be hoping to prevent their opponents from completing the league double following Stalybridge’s 3-0 win at Bower Fold earlier in the campaign, where goals from Jack Irlam, Max Leonard and Lewis Rawsthorn decided the outcome.
As well as the management team, Albion will probably find some familiar faces in the Stalybridge squad in striker Joe Duckworth, defender Jack Tinning and possibly Elliot Rokka, although he hasn’t featured regularly in recent weeks.
Unfortunately, one player who won’t figure in the game is former Albion midfielder Brandon Newell due to injury which has ended his season prematurely. I’m sure that we all wish Brandon well in his recovery.
Like Witton, Stalybridge have struggled for consistency and have suffered defeats in both of their last two away games at Runcorn Linnets and Hednesford Town and Albion will be hoping that continues.
A tough game lies ahead and Witton will be looking to pick up three more points as they aim to reach the top half of the table.
Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.
