Forward signs from Altrincham

Witton Albion have added forward James Hooper to their ranks on a dual registration from National League North side Altrincham.

The 23-year-old has Football League experience having began his career with Rochdale before a short spell with Carlisle United.

Hooper has also represented FC United of Manchester, Stockport County, Radcliffe Borough, Salford City and Chorley.

Alty signed the forward earlier this month having impressed during a spell with West Didsbury in the North West Counties, scoring three goals in three games following a three-month lay-off with a shoulder injury.

Available for Saturday's game away at Stalybridge Celtic, Hooper is looking forward to be at Wincham Park.

"I'm buzzing to be back playing," he said. "I've been out for three months after a shoulder operation and played three games for West Didsbury and scored three goals.

"I just want to get back up to speed, score some goals and help the lads push up the table and hopefully get into the play-offs.

"I played with Adam Anson at Chorley and he had nothing but good things to say about the club.

"I'm happy it's all sorted for Saturday."

Meanwhile, Danny Mitchley has returned to Radcliffe FC at the end of his loan spell at Albion.

The experienced striker spent two months at Wincham Park and scored two goals in 10 appearances during his time with us.

We'd like to thank Danny for his efforts in a Witton shirt and wish him well for the future.
