John Salmon resigns as Witton Albion chairman

Chairman John Salmon has stepped down as Director and Chairman from Witton Albion Football Club with immediate effect for business and personal reasons.

Mr Salmon said: "It has been an honour to serve this fantastic club for eight years, the last three and a half as Chairman. However, being a Probate solicitor, the COVID-19 pandemic has increased my workload dramatically. Accordingly, I no longer have the free time that I once had to dedicate to club affairs."

The Board would like to thank John for his service over the last eight years. The day-to-day tasks formally undertaken by John will be undertaken by fellow director Graham Wood until the end of the season. The club hopes to be able to make an announcement regarding the permanent appointment of a new Chairman within the next few weeks.

Graham would also like to re-iterate the need for volunteers to step up to assist with the smooth running of the club, particularly on matchdays. This is a fantastic way to get more involved with the club. Anybody with an interest in helping out in whatever way they can please email Graham at wittonalbionfc1887@outlook.com.
