Heywood United and Pendlebury became the latest Manchester League clubs to move to the Lancashire Combination. Neither team had fared especially well and this, along with ‘previous switchers of competition’ also not having excelled in the Manchester League, that the ‘stronger’ Lancashire Combination was, in fact, not vastly superior, as has been claimed. Eccles Borough, Ramsbottom and Rochdale were all admitted to the Manchester League.

All the clubs which started the season also finished it. There was no repeat of the tight finish of the previous season at the top and matters were pretty clear-cut at the foot of the table also.
