Witton's U21's Development Squad begin their pre season programme on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Hallmark Security League North side Atherton Laburnum Rovers. Witton have stepped in at the last minute after Rovers original opponents backed out of the scheduled friendly. Witton's U21's are now under new management following the appointment of Neil Murray as successor to Aaron Kenyon. The team finished last season in excellent form in the North West U21's Development League Premier Division, winning seven and drawing one in their last eight games. So will be looking to perform well in pre season ahead of the new campaign in August. There may well be new arrivals on the playing side but each one of them will be looking to impress and hopefully stake a claim for the new season. Atherton will no doubt provkde a tough challenge for the lads as they are in a higher league but it will be a good test for Witton and one they should look forward to. Kick off at Crilly Park is 3pm.

At junction 15, take the M61 exit to Preston/Wigan/Bolton and follow for 0.4 miles. Continue on M61 and follow for 0.6 miles. Keep left at the fork to stay on M61, follow signs for Preston for 3.1 miles. At junction 4, take the A6 exit to Leigh/Atherton and continue for 0.2 miles. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Watergate Lane and follow for 0.1 miles. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Salford Road/A6 and follow for 0.9 miles. Turn left onto Newbrook Road/A579 and continue to follow for 1.6 miles. Turn right onto Upton Road and continue for 0.1 miles. Turn left onto Carr Brook Drive and follow for 0.2 miles. Turn left to stay on Carr Brook Drive and proceed for 72 ft to football stadium. (Total Distance - 35.4 miles).
