Vulcan FC 1 Witton Albion U21's Development Squad 2.
Witton's U21's made it five league wins in a row in very warm conditions at Vulcan Sports Club on Sunday afternoon. The heat was so that the referee allowed drinks breaks midway through each half.
The game was a rather physical and keenly contested affair but Albion came out on top, avenging their home defeat to Vulcan earlier in the season.
Witton went in front on 37 minutes, following a lovely run down the right wing from Hamish Essa, who delivered a perfect cross for Ryan Malone who side-footed home from twelve yards. As it appeared that Witton were going to go in at the break with a lead, Vulcan equalised deep into first half stoppage time.
The second half was relatively quiet as both teams battled with the warm conditions and it looked as thought the points would be shared. That was until the 84th minute when Albion's Jack Egan picked up the ball on the right hand side of the box and delivered a perfect ball into Ryan Malone, who sealed the points with a cool finish beyond the keeper.
