Late penalty denies Under 21's crucial victory.
Full Time Score from Moss Farm:
North West U21's Development League Premier Division:
1874 Northwich 2 Witton Albion U21's Development Squad 2.
Witton's U21's Development Squad came within two minutes of beating neighbours 1874 Northwich when the two teams met in a North West U21 Development League Premier Division fixture at Moss Farm last Sunday afternoon.
1874 went in front as early as the 12th minute when former Witton striker Kyle Phipps (who else), was first to react to a rebound and scored. That didn't deter Witton though as they equalised on the half hour through Academy Student Stefan Sorensen and things got even better eight minutes later when debutant Ellis Wrench scored to give Albion a 2-1 interval lead.
The second half was relatively quiet until 1874 Northwich were reduced to ten men and as time elapsed, it appeared that Witton might see the game out and collect three very welcome and hard-earned points. That was until the game reached the 88th minute and 1874 Northwich were awarded a penalty. Kazim Waite-Jackson duly obliged from the spot and the game ended all square.
