Witton's U21's latest league fixture ended with another defeat at the hands of Salford City at Moss Farm on Sunday afternoon. Like the reverse fixture earlier in the season, Witton's first half performance was almost rewarded with a 2-1 interval lead but the visitors equalised right on the whistle and on this occasion they ended up empty-handed after putting a lot into the game.
The visitors were to take the lead on 15 minutes but Witton fought their way back into the game ten minutes later when Kaithen Farnsworth equalised. Maxo Pitu then put Albion in front on 35 minutes, a lead they protected almost upto the half time whistle but Salford then levelled to take the sides in all square at the break.
The second half saw second-placed Salford gain the initiative and they overturned the deficit, as they went into a 3-2 lead by the 70th minute. Three further goals in the final period of the game saw the visitors run out comfortable winners in a game that Witton gave everything they had but the margin of victory was particularly hard on the team considering their efforts.
