NPL Football Academy - Joma Division:
Radcliffe FC (Blue) 2 Witton Albion Academy 0.
Witton's Academy team 's unbeaten start to the season came to an end at The Neuven Stadium on Wednesday afternoon as leaders Radcliffe FC (Blue) preserved their perfect start in the JOMA Division.
Albion's Students more than held their own in a first half that saw the teams go in all square at the half time interval. It wasn't to be though as the leaders went in front in the second half through Sheldon Barrington and shortly afterwards, Cameron Lewame doubled their advantage and the saw the game out to register their sixth win in six games.
Witton did have chances, most notably when Owen Wynne 's spot kick came back out off the frame of the goal and after the ball was put back into the danger area moments later, the same part of the woodwork came to Radcliffe 's rescue again as the cross was headed against the same post.
Witton can take a lot of positives from the game, their first defeat of the campaign and a performance in which they held out for so long and restricted the prolific leaders to only two goals.
