Late goal breaks Sutton Coldfield 's resistance.
Full Time Score from Coles Lane:
NPL Football Academy - Joma Division:
Sutton Coldfield Town (Blue) 1 Witton Albion Academy 2.
Midfielder Stan Tatters late goal gave Witton's Academy team their first win of the new NPL Football Academy season in their JOMA Division fixture at Coles Lane on Wednesday afternoon.
Sutton Coldfield Town had begun the season in horrendous fashion, conceding fifteen goals in their opening two games without registering themselves but this encounter turned out to anything but a formality for Albion.
Ollie Griffiths gave Witton the lead minutes before half-time only to be pegged back early in the second half as Callum Beet netted Sutton Coldfield 's first goal of the campaign. The game appeared to be heading for a surprise draw before midfielder Tatters scored what turned out to be the decider moments before the final whistle and end Sutton Coldfield 's stubborn resistance.
A good first win for Witton to follow up their draw at Mickleover Sports a fortnight ago but, the hosts can and will surely take some positives from their improved performance.
