Witton's Academy team kick off the new season on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Mickleover Sports. The Students performed very well last season in finishing fifth in the JOMA Division and reaching the Semi Finals of the NPLFA Cup before losing narrowly to this afternoon's opponents. Sports were very strong last season and were second in the final table behind Warrington Town. A number of their students have also experienced first team football in recent months whilst, Witton were able to give that same opportunity to three of their own during pre season. Witton will be hoping that this season's campaign has a better beginning than a year ago when they suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Sports, the first of three defeats against the same opposition. Today is a new start for everyone and both teams will be looking to get off to a positive start. Kick off at The Don Arnott Arena is 1pm.

Directions: Exit M6 at junction 16, take the A500 exit to Crewe/Nantwich/Newcastle-u-Lyme/ Stoke-on-Trent (North). Continue for 0.2 miles then turn left onto A500 - follow for 9.7 miles. Slight left A50 onto the slip road to Derby for 0.2 miles. At Sideway, take the 1st exit onto A50 and continue for 0.3 miles. Keep right to stay on A50 for 5.7 miles. At Tean Roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A50 for 8.6 miles. At McDonalds Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Ashbourne Road and follow for 0.3 miles. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto B5030 and follow for 2.9 miles. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Churnet Row for 0.1 miles. Continue onto High Street for 0.2 miles. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Mill Street and follow for 1.3 miles. Slight left onto Cubley Lane and carry on for 2.2 miles. Turn left onto A515 and after 52 ft, turn right onto Derby Lane following for 1.6 miles. Turn right onto Leapley Lane and continue for 0.1 miles, turn left onto Long Lane and follow for 6.7 miles. Turn right onto B5020 and carry on for 1.6 miles. Turn right onto Station Road/B5020 and travel 423 ft, then turn left and travel 177 ft to football club.
