It's with great sadness that we announce that Peter Riley passed away on Saturday 23rd June.
Peter was an extremely popular figure at Witton Albion and served in many roles including General Manager and also as Match Secretary on a number of occasions. Pete was a passionate Wittoner, an extremely popular character and friend to many at the club. As a loyal volunteer Pete spent many years in the office, in the stands and on hundreds of away coaches supporting his club.
Commenting on the club's official Facebook page Peter's son Phil thanked friends for their messages and tributes and said " Dad was one in a million. Witton featured in many of his favourite memories, both on and off the pitch. To everyone who is a part of this special club - fans, officials, players - you all played a massive part in his life and I’m very thankful for that".
The board of directors, management, playing staff, volunteers are supporters send their condolences and best wishes to Phil and his family during this difficult time.
Once arrangements have been made for Peter's funeral we will announce them on the club's official web site and social media channels.
